The Ewing War Report Rogue Celebrates C-N-N’s Debut Album With Camo and Dual Branding
In the summer of ’97, Queens rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga burst onto the hip hop scene with their debut studio album The War Report. The gritty, loud, and quintessentially New York sounds surprised fans worldwide with brutal tracks like “L.A., L.A.” and “T.O.N.Y.” Credited with single-handedly reviving the East Coast’s hardcore hip-hop heritage, the album was quickly listed on 1997’s Hip Hop/R&B Top Five and certified Gold in the United States.
Ewing Athletics has partnered with C-N-N members Capone and N.O.R.E. to celebrate this classic album. In the two decades since its release The War Report has garnered a cult following, and thus, the Ewing War Report Rogue brings the bold neon wording from the iconic album cover to the tongues and heels of the shoe. This Rogue’s green camo midfoot cross straps echo the fatigues worn by N.O.R.E. on the album cover while the midsole gets treated to a speckle and fade. “I’m super excited to have collaborated with the Ewing brand to commemorate the 22-year anniversary of The War Report album,” said rapper Capone. “Being a true Knick fan, this is a dream come true.”
The Ewing War Report Rogue will release in very limited numbers on June 11. Hip hop history will be celebrated by many of the artists that helped create it that same night at SOB’s with a launch event. There, a unique desert camo Friends & Family version of the shoe, inspired by Capone’s fatigues on the album cover, will be on sale in extremely limited numbers. This is the very first time Ewing Athletics is making a F&F version available to the public. The first 40 pairs of War Report Rogues sold will come with a custom lace lock set.
Rappers Capone and N.O.R.E. will be on hand at SOB’s to meet fans and sign shoes. Doors open at 7PM to media and 8PM to the public (tickets are $15 for the pubic, ticket link below). Food and refreshments will be served and special guests will be in attendance.
Pricing: The Ewing War Report Rogue is available now exclusively at EwingAthletics.com in sizes 5-16 for $140.
