33 HI Black/Aqua

I need supportive, quality footwear. I have a clubbed foot that has been surgically rebuilt. I started buying quality basketball shoes about five years ago. It was either that or orthopedic shoes. My podiatrist and orthopedic doctor approved of my footwear choice. The Ewing 33 HI are, by far, the best for my needs (sorry Michael and LeBron). First, they are TRUE high tops, which support my ankle that rolls to the outside. These have lateral support and a strong sole that is wide enough. I use a carbon fiber insert for my right foot and the cushioned insole in the 33 HI provides excellent comfort over the insert. The eyelets allow the laces to provide a snug fit and additional support. The tongue provides good support and cushioning. They are cool and not too heavy considering the quality and support they provide. What is most important to me is the Achilles cushioning. A clubbed foot is caused by an Achilles tendon being too short (a birth defect). For me this has been a lifelong source of pain. It is almost unnoticeable wearing the Ewing 33 Hi. They come with white, black and aqua laces and the strap is reversable. I normally buy size 11 or 11 and a half. The Ewing's are a size 12 and are perfect. I recommend buying a size larger than other brands. I don't play basketball, but I walk around in comfort, with much less pain and have shoes that cost less than custom made orthopedics or ankle braces and last longer!
